The Danish international and one of the best midfielders in the world, Christian Eriksen arrived today in Milan, to finalize his deal with Inter.

Inter’s Last Piece of the Championship Puzzle

Eriksen was a wish of Antonio Conte for a long time. Even when the midfielder allegedly wanted to leave Tottenham and join Atletico Madrid, the Italian manager forced the management of the club to send offers to London.

Earlier today, Eriksen arrived in Milan via private jet and was met at the airport by the team-manager, Mattia Tagliacarne. It is expected for him to complete the medical tests and if everything goes well, to immediately sign a deal.

According to various sources, Eriksen’s weekly wage will be $410,000, and his former club, Tottenham, will receive $22 million as a fee for allowing him to leave this winter.

Although he had a contract that expires this summer, the Italian powerhouse didn’t want to risk anything and decided to take him right away. There was a possibility that he once again shines at the upcoming EURO 2020, which would immediately draw the attention of other teams willing to sign him.

Many believe that Eriksen presents the final addition to Nerazzurri’s squad and that he is that X-factor for winning the title, which the team didn’t have in the previous seasons.

At the moment, Inter is three points away from Juventus, who leads the standings, and two points ahead of Lazio, but with one game more. The recent few results have been disastrous for Conte’s side, with the team recording three straight draws against not so tough opponents.

Inter played 1-1 against Cagliari yesterday, vs. Lecce last Sunday and Atalanta the week before, losing 6 points. The lucky thing is that both Lazio and Juventus didn’t win in this round as well, which prevented the team from Giuseppe Meazza from getting into a more complicated situation.

Eriksen Moving Away From Tottenham

The 27-year old played six and a half seasons for the Spurs, where he left a massive trace behind him. Without a doubt, he was the key reason why Tottenham rose from mediocrity and became one of the top European clubs.

Since joining from Ajax, he played 304 games in all competitions and score 69 goals. But, his impact on the field was much greater than this. Eriksen’s style of play was what separated Tottenham from all other teams in England. His vision, flamboyancy, and organization skills, were making all other players in the club looking much better.

It is no wonder to see the Spurs struggling now when he isn’t playing regularly. Almost all fans believe that his absence and lack of motivation are the key reasons for the awful season their favorite club is experiencing.

The rumors about his conflicts with some teammates were filling the headlines of the English media constantly since the campaign began. Also, some of them suggested that he refused to play and give 100% of his abilities because Tottenham rejected Atletico Madrid’s offer during the summer transfer window. Allegedly, Eriksen wanted to join the Madridians, but his wish wasn’t granted.

Now he has a chance for a completely new start in Milan.
