How Does the ATP Finals Work?
For the 56th time, the ATP Finals will crown the season-ending champion on the men’s tour. A week-long event will be staged to determine the champion. Each star involved will be drawn into a group, where they will play against each of their three opponents on one occasion.
The top two will progress to form the semi-finals, before the winners from each of these ties will collide in the ATP Finals on Sunday, November 16.
Who Are The Leading ATP Finals Contenders?
A stacked line-up will be involved in the ATP Finals this year, with the battle for the title likely to be between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner is the defending champion after winning the event in 2024.
The Italian will have home-field advantage for the competition once again this year, as he bids to build on a memorable campaign, which has already resulted in Australian Open and Wimbledon success.
Alcaraz will also have leading claims to end the season on a high point. The Spaniard has winning records over four of the six other players involved in the ATP Finals this year, and confidence levels should be high after landing French Open and U.S. Open success this calendar year.
Taylor Fritz will be an American hope, as he bids to improve on his showing 12 months ago. The world number four reached the quarterfinals of the US Open a few months ago. That was an encouraging showing after achieving his best run at Wimbledon during the summer.
ATP Finals Pick
This should be a straight shootout between the two stars who have dominated the Grand Slam events throughout 2025. However, the fact that Sinner has the upper hand based on home event status could be the deciding factor at the ATP Finals in 2025.
