All eyes will be on Brazil when they open their 2026 World Cup campaign on June 13 against the reigning African champions, Morocco.
Both nations are widely expected to qualify for the next round, but this MD1 clash could pinpoint the team best placed to top the Group C standings.

Carlo Ancelotti has won trophies throughout his career, meaning that his Brazil side shouldn’t be underestimated this summer.
The five-time World Cup winners struggled through qualification, and their recent results have also seen them lose matches against France, Japan, and Bolivia. However, there is always something special about seeing Brazil at the World Cup. Momentum has been built in recent outings, scoring eight goals in dominant wins against Panama and Egypt.
Vinicius Jr will be crucial to Brazil’s chances this summer, while Endrick could be a young player who may emerge on the global stage after registering 12 goal involvements in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon at the end of last season.

Morocco made history at the 2022 World Cup, becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-finals. The progress of the Atlas Lions has continued since then, winning AFCON earlier this year.
Their prowess in tournament soccer is undeniable, and they have avoided defeat in all eight internationals this year.
The African heavyweights continued to build momentum in their final warm-up match, playing out a defensively solid game in a 1-1 draw against Norway. Plenty of ability across the field ensures that they are capable of upsetting the odds in Group C.
Morocco will make this a huge task for Brazil on MD1. However, Brazil are traditionally a fast starter at the competition, and we could foresee them recording a narrow win, potentially by a 2-1 scoreline.
