Aussies Hoping to Upset the Odds
Tony Popovic’s Australia will be making their sixth straight appearance at the World Cup.
However, the Aussies have suffered group stage exits in three of the last four editions. Australia qualified for the World Cup impressively, winning eleven of their 16 fixtures.
However, their form has dipped this year, failing to win in their last two since a 5-1 win over Curacao. The Aussies have also underperformed against higher-ranked nations, losing against the USA last October and Mexico in May.

Turkey Make World Cup Return
Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey have been readily flagged up as a potential dark horse for this year’s World Cup.
The nation will be making their return to the competition for the first time since finishing third in 2002, while they enjoyed an eye-catching run to the quarterfinals at EURO 2024. Turkey have been reliable this year, winning all four of their matches, and keeping clean sheets on three occasions.
Arda Guler will be one of their standout attacking options this summer, while Hakan Çalhanoğlu has scored twice in his last eleven national team starts.
Australia vs. Turkey Pick
Turkey should encounter few issues in opening their account with a win in Group D. The Europeans have the flair players to cause major issues for Australia, and we could foresee them delivering a statement 3-0 win.
