The Tempo look to stack wins after taking down Chicago

Toronto had dropped two straight games, with both losses coming by double-digit margins. However, they ended the streak with a 111-104 win over the Chicago Sky on Wednesday night.

Thanks to shooting 58 percent and a 21-10 rebounding edge, the Tempo enjoyed a 55-48 lead at the break. Chicago trimmed the deficit to 98-96 with 3:33 left in the final frame, but Toronto responded with an 8-2 burst to put the game out of reach.

Nyara Sabally was one of five players in double figures. She scored a team-high 29 points and collected six rebounds. Marina Mabrey also delivered a solid performance, finishing with 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting, to go along with seven assists and four rebounds.

Seattle seeks a reset after a disappointing effort against the Mystics

Following a three-game skid that dropped them to 1-4, the Storm won its next two games. Unfortunately, the feel-good vibes were short-lived, as they suffered a 78-64 defeat at the hands of the Washington Mystics.

Seattle kept it somewhat close early, trailing 28-20 after the opening frame. The offense struggled in the second quarter, as the home team was outscored 20-9, resulting in a 48-29 deficit at the break. After the lead was trimmed to 11 early in the third, Washington responded with a 13-4 surge, extending its advantage to 20 points with 4:03 left in the quarter.

Jade Melbourne was one of the few bright spots for a Storm team that struggled to put the ball in the basket. She led the way with 15 points, converting six of her eight shot attempts. Mackenzie Holmes contributed eight points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Seattle shot 35 percent overall and 22 percent from deep. The host team also committed 12 turnovers, which led to 15 points for Washington.
