The Aces and Wings face off on Thursday in a battle between two very competitive teams. Dallas has taken a big step forward this year and will look for a signature win against the defending champions.

The Aces had an interesting start to the season, currently holding an 0-2 record at home but a 4-0 record on the road. While the home fans may not be pleased, it culminates in a 4-2 record for the defending champs. They'll put that unbeaten road record to the test in this matchup against the Wings as they head to Dallas. Chennedy Carter has provided a major boost for Las Vegas off the bench, shooting 66% from the field so far.
After finishing tied for the worst record in the WNBA last year, the Wings are off to a 4-3 start. Most recently, they dominated the Liberty by 15 points in New York. It was a breakout game for 2026 top overall pick Azzi Fudd, who scored 24 points on 9-15 shooting. 2025 first pick Paige Bueckers matched that total with 24 of her own, with the pair leading both teams as the day's top scorers. They'll aim to keep it up against the Aces next.
Dallas definitely looks much improved this season as their young backcourt duo combined for 48 points last game. That being said, they haven't gotten much of anything from free agent acquisition Alanna Smith and saw veteran Arike Ogunbowale go 5-20 against the Liberty. When faced with A'Ja Wilson and the Aces' defense, the Wings will need their veterans to step up. For now, Las Vegas seems more suited to winning.
