Can the Spurs stave off elimination on their home floor?

After dropping Games 2 and 3, San Antonio responded with a defensive gem in Game 4, defeating OKC by 21 points while holding them to 33 percent from the field and 18 percent from deep. However, the defending champs responded with a 127-114 victory in Game 5, pushing Wemby and Co. to the brink.

The Spurs trailed by two points after the opening quarter, but Oklahoma City pulled away for good in the second quarter behind a 40-31 scoring edge.

Julian Champagnie was one of four players in double figures for San Antonio. He paced the offense with 22 points and eight rebounds on 4-for-8 shooting from 3-point range. Victor Wembanyama added 20 points and six rebounds, but converted only four of his 15 shot attempts.

Led by the league MVP, OKC got a much-needed win in Game 5

On the other side, the Thunder looked like an entirely different team than what we saw in Game 4. After producing only 38 first-half points two nights ago, OKC poured in 69 points in Game 5.

While the Spurs trimmed a 20-point deficit down to 10, the home team led by a double-digit margin for most of the fourth quarter. Additionally, the offense was clicking, as the Thunder shot 48 percent overall and 44 percent from beyond the arc.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led five double-digit scorers with 32 points and nine assists. Jared McCain added 20 points, while Chet Holmgren contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Spurs vs Thunder Game 6 NBA Pick

San Antonio enters this contest as a 3.5-point favorite. Here's a look at what you need to know for both teams ahead of Game 6.

  • The Spurs are 13-7 (SU) in their previous 20 games.
  • San Antonio is 13-7 ATS in its last 20 outings.
  • The Thunder are 11-2 (SU) in their previous 13 contests.
  • Oklahoma City is 6-3 ATS in its last nine matchups.
