World Cup Group H Teams
Spain
Luis de la Fuente’s Spain were the dominant nation at EURO 2024, and their young and talented squad have been the front runners for World Cup success this summer since then. La Roja won the tournament in 2010, but they have exited in the round of 16 in each of the last two editions.
As expected, Spain faced few issues in qualifying, winning five of their six matches and conceding just two goals. Rodri will captain the national team this summer, with their possession-based style likely to thrive with Pedri and Gavi in the middle of the park. Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal is the star man, but the teenager could be forced to sit out the first two games due to injury.
Cape Verde
One of the smallest nations in World Cup history will compete on the global stage this summer, as Cape Verde gained qualification for the first time. Bubista led the team to the historic feat after winning seven of their eight qualification matches. However, the odds will be stacked against them this summer to continue their dream story.
The nation have underperformed since reaching the World Cup, having failed to win in their last four. Defensive concerns will also be hard to ignore, as they have allowed five goals in two matches against Chile and Finland in 2026.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia caused one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history in 2022, beating subsequent champions Argentina in the group stage. However, defeats in their following two group games saw them finish bottom of the standings.
The nation is one of the most successful in the Asian region, and their progression to the World Cup was achieved following eight wins in 18 matches. But, their defensive record is once again a concern this summer after allowing six goals in their last two internationals against Egypt and Serbia.
Uruguay
South American nation Uruguay will round off the teams in Group G. Marcelo Bielsa’s team endured a challenging qualifying campaign, winning seven of their 18 fixtures. They are a team currently in transition following the retirements of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, and that was reflected by the fact that they scored just 22 goals in the qualifying campaign.
Disappointing results against Algeria and the USA have been recorded since the start of November, while much of their success this summer will likely hinge on the influence of Real Madrid superstar Federico Valverde.
World Cup Group H Winner Picks
This is the most straightforward World Cup group to predict. Spain will record three straight wins to top Group G, while wins for Uruguay against Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde will secure their progression as runners-up.
