New Mexico and Tulsa meet in an exciting NIT semifinal clash. Both teams ranked near the top of their mid-major conferences but missed the tourney. They will seek a trip to the finals in this game.

New Mexico has absolutely dominated their competition in the NIT, proving that they may have deserved a spot in the NCAA Tournament as the Mountain West's second team. So far, they've beaten Sam Houston by 24, George Washington by 25, and St. Joseph's by 15. They face an increased challenge in the semifinals against a Tulsa team that is seeking their 30th win of the season. Top-scorer Jake Hall will lead the way again.

The Golden Hurricane are eyeing their 30th win and a trip to the NIT Finals after getting revenge against Wichita State in the quarterfinals. Though they were unable to win the American Conference or make the NCAA Tournament, Tulsa had an excellent season worthy of an NIT appearance. They have high hopes with a trip to the Finals on the line, needing to find a way to slow New Mexico's offense down to realize those hopes.
This should be an exciting NIT clash between New Mexico and Tulsa. As two of the strongest mid-majors to miss the tourney, both teams have a real chance of cutting down the nets in the NIT. Although Tulsa's 29-7 record is impressive, it's hard to overlook the Lobos sheer dominance in the NIT thus far. Take New Mexico.
