The Nets trailed by just nine points after the first half. This is somewhat of an accomplishment, given that Boston has the second-best record in the East. However, the Celtics pulled ahead for good in the second half, thanks to an 82-54 scoring advantage, including a 43-26 edge in the third quarter.
Michael Porter Jr. scored a team-high 18 points on a 6-for-12 effort from the field. Danny Wolf paced the second unit with 16 points.
Cleveland aims to avoid its third consecutive defeat
Following a 109-94 victory against New York on Feb. 24, the Cavaliers have dropped their last two games, including a 122-119 overtime loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Cleveland held a nine-point lead with 2:44 left in regulation, and Detroit's best player, Cade Cunningham, fouled out. Unfortunately, the Pistons responded with a 16-7 burst to force overtime. Trailing by three points in the waning moments of the extra period, Evan Mobley's 3-point attempt was off the mark at the buzzer, securing the win for Detroit.
Jarrett Allen was one of six players who reached double figures for Cleveland. He led the way with 25 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Mobley finished with a double-double that consisted of 23 points and 12 rebounds.
