  • This will be the first meeting between the franchises.

One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Golden State Valkyries hosting the Seattle Storm. Will Golden State extend its win streak to three games in our Valkyries vs Storm pick?

Valkyries Aiming For First Three-Game Win Streak Of The Season

Following a four-game skid, the Valkyries have produced wins in each of their last two outings. This includes an 89-81 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night.

Janelle Salaun and Kayla Thornton were the standout performers for Golden State. Salaun scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Thornton added 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The teams battled to a 78-78 tie through the game’s first 40 minutes. However, Golden State locked down defensively in the extra frame, outscoring the Sparks by an 11-3 margin.

Seattle Looks To Stay Hot

The Storm enter this matchup riding a three-game win streak, including a 94-84 victory against the Minnesota Lynx.

Seattle’s offense performed at a solid level (56.5 percent shooting overall and 38.9 percent from 3), with all five starters reaching double figures. Nneka Ogwumike led the way with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Erica Wheeler finished with 20 points and nine assists, while Skylar Diggins contributed 18 points, and six assists. Minnesota led 49-48 at the break and began the third quarter with an 11-1 burst, extending its advantage to 60-49.

Seattle offered a response of its own, scoring 26 of the next 32 points for a 75-66 advantage early in the final frame. The Storm won the fourth-quarter scoring battle 26–19 en route to their third straight victory.

Valkyries vs Storm WNBA Pick

Golden State has the third-worst scoring average and is ranked eighth in points allowed per game. On the other hand, Seattle is fifth in offensive efficiency and sixth in defensive rating.

Given the Valkyries’ struggles from an offensive standpoint and the fact that they will be missing three key players, Seattle should win this one with relative ease.
