One of the games on Friday’s WNBA postseason slate features the Phoenix Mercury hosting the Minnesota Lynx in Game 3 of this second-round matchup. Who has the edge in our Mercury vs Lynx pick?

Mercury vs Lynx Game 3 Preview

It did not look good for Phoenix, as the team trailed by as many as 20 points in the third quarter. However, a late 12-0 burst trimmed the deficit to eight points heading into the final frame.

Trailing by three points late in regulation, Sami Whitcomb knocked down a huge 3-pointer, sending the game into overtime. From there, the Mercury outscored Minnesota 10-4 in the extra frame on their way to an impressive 89-83 victory.

Satou Sabally paced the Mercury’s offense with 24 points and nine boards. She also shot 5-for-11 from beyond the arc. Alyssa Thomas posted a double-double that consisted of 19 points and 13 dimes.

On the other side, Minnesota had four starters in double figures, including a trio of 20-point performances. Napheesa Collier put up 24 points, along with six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks on her 29th birthday. Kayla McBride added 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting overall and 4-of-8 from 3-point range.

Can Phoenix pull off another upset, or will Minnesota bounce back and reclaim home-court advantage.
