Phoenix vs New York Preview

The Mercury dropped the series opener on their home court and needed a road win to extend their postseason run. And in Game 2, they responded in a big way, defeating the Liberty by an 86-60 margin, leveling the series at 1-1.

The teams battled to a 25-25 stalemate in opening quarter. However, Phoenix doubled up New York over the middle two quarters by a 44-22 margin en route to an easy double-digit victory.

Satou Sabally was one of five Mercury players to reach double figures. Her final stat line included 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Alyssa Thomas added 15 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.

On the other side, the Liberty struggled, to put it nicely, Emma Meesseman was the only player to produce a double-digit scoring total, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists off the bench. New York shot 30.2 percent overall and 23.1 percennt from 3-point range.

Mercury vs Liberty WNBA Pick

After splitting the first two games, Phoenix has a 4-2 edge in the six head-to-head matchups this season. And the defensive effort on display in Game 2 was next level. With the deciding game on their home court, and Breanna Stewart seemingly limited with a knee injury, Phoenix looks primed to advance to the next round.
