One of the games on Monday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Golden State Valkyries. Which ball club has the edge in our Dream vs Valkyries pick?

Dream Coming Off Heartbreaking Loss To Seattle

After securing a 93-80 victory against the Chicago Sky two weeks ago, the Dream have dropped three of their last four contests. This includes an 80-79 defeat at the hands of the Seattle Storm on Jul. 3.

Jordin Canada led Atlanta with 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Brionna Jones notched a double-double that included 18 points and 10 rebounds. She also had four assists and shot 9-for-14 from the field.

Canada hit a pair of free throws to give the Dream a 79-75 lead with 51 seconds left to play. Unfortunately, the two-possession lead proved not to be sufficient, as Seattle scored the last five points of the game to escape with a one-point victory.

Golden State Aims To Bounce Back From Double-Digit Loss Against Lynx

The Valkyries saw their two-game win streak end with an 82-71 setback against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night.

Not only did Golden State keep the game close early, but it led 56-54 midway through the third quarter before Minnesota closed the period with a 15-4 run to take a 69-60 advantage in the final frame, a lead the home team would not relinquish.

Tiffany Hayes was the noteworthy performer for the Valkyries. She finished with 23 points, four assists, and three rebounds on 8-for-11 shooting overall and an impressive 5-for-6 effort from 3-point range.

Dream vs Valkyries WNBA Pick

Atlanta comes into this contest ranked third in points per game and fourth in scoring defense, allowing 78.6 points per outing. Meanwhile, Golden State has the fourth-worst offensive rating, but boasts the second-lowest defensive rating in the association, surrending 98.7 points per 100 possessions.

The Dream have dropped three of their previous five games. Conversely, the Valkyries have produced three wins in their last five outings. Despite this trend, look for Atlanta to come out on top in the debut matchup between these franchises.
