One of the games on Sunday’s WNBA postseason slate features the Las Vegas Aces hosting the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of this second-round matchup. Who has the edge in our Aces vs Fever pick?
Las Vegas vs Indiana Preview
Although the Aces had won 17 of 18 heading into Game 3 against the Storm, they needed some late-game heroics in the series finale.
After Erica Wheeler gave Seattle a 73-72 lead, Jackie Young, who put up 14 points, hit the game-winning basket, enabling Las Vegas to advance to the semifinal round. A’ja Wilson led the way with 38 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
Like their opponent, the series-clinching win for the Fever went down to the wire as well. Aliyah Boston’s layup with 7.4 seconds left and Odyssey Sims’ free throw gave Indiana an 87-85 advantage with 1.2 seconds remaining.
Atlanta had one last chance to pull out a victory, but Brionna Jones’ 3-point attempt was off the mark. Kelsey Mitchell was Indiana’s top performer, finishing with 24 points on 7-for-16 shooting overall and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
