Otega Oweh was unreal against Santa Clara. Along with hitting a buzzer-beater to send the Wildcats into OT, Oweh just joined Oscar Robertson, Bill Bradley, and Larry Bird as the only players in NCAA Tournament history to post 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in a single game.
No Jefferson No Problem
Iowa State is 28-7 overall and the 2nd seed in the Midwest Region. They are looking for their eighth Sweet 16 in program history and third under TJ Otzelberger. He has made the cyclones one of the best programs in the country since taking the head coach job.
Joshua Jefferson's ankle injury is the story. He left the first round game because of this. This was a major blow for the cyclones, but they still look dominant as ever. Iowa State ranked 6th in both KenPom and NET this season. Even without Jefferson, this is a top-10 team.
#7 Kentucky vs #2 Iowa State NCAAB Pick:
Kentucky vs Iowa State will be a fun one. With that said, Iowa State is the better team, and Momcilovic is capable of carrying them even without Jefferson. They're deeper, more efficient, and built for exactly this kind of game. We expect their defense to carry them to a win. Our pick is Iowa State (-230).
