Men’s Wimbledon Outright Winner Contenders
Carlos Alcaraz
Recently crowned French Open champion, and two-time defending Wimbledon king Carlos Alcaraz will undeniably be a leading contender at the All England Club this summer.
The Spanish superstar may be considered a clay court specialist, but his best win rate of any major actually comes at SW19, having won 90% of his matches. His momentum this calendar year will make him hard to overlook as the outright winner.
Jannik Sinner
It’s slightly surprising to see Jannik Sinner listed as the pre-tournament favorite. The Italian let a two set lead slip at Roland Garros in June, eventually losing a thriller against Alcaraz.
Sinner’s game could be better suited to the grass, having reached at least the quarterfinal stage in each of the last three years. But, his win rate of 76% at Wimbledon is his lowest of all the Grand Slam events.
Novak Djokovic
Despite his age, Novak Djokovic is still competing at an ultra-high standard. The Serbian is a seven-time winner at Wimbledon, and has reached the final in each of the last six editions of the Grand Slam.
The 38-year-old isn’t getting any younger, and he may be vulnerable against younger stars. But, it is worth remembering that he has reached at least the last eight in all but one of the editions of Wimbledon since 2008.
Men’s Wimbledon Outright Winner Pick
The top three players in the betting will be incredibly hard to beat. However, at the prices, a chance could be taken on the improving Jack Draper.
The Brit has already shown that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level this season after winning the Indian Wells Open in straight sets against Holger Rune.
He is yet to replicate that level of form at Wimbledon, but this summer could change his fortunes at his home Grand Slam event.
