  • Tottenham have failed to win in their last eleven midweek EPL fixtures
  • Newcastle have won two of their last 15 Premier League away matches

Two struggling teams in the Premier League collide in North London on Feb 10, as Tottenham host Newcastle.

Tottenham’s home form has been an issue throughout the campaign, winning just four of their last 26 in North London. They come into this clash following a limp display against Man United on Saturday.

Newcastle also suffered a damaging defeat in their latest outing, and Eddie Howe’s side have now dropped to 12th after losing their last three EPL fixtures.

Spurs Sleep Walking Into Relegation Battle

The pressure continues to increase on Thomas Frank following a damaging Premier League loss against Man United on Saturday.

That defeat means that Spurs have now failed to win in their last five matches, losing on three occasions. Worryingly, they are edging nearer toward the drop zone, as they now hold just a six-point advantage over the relegation places. Frank’s issues increased on Saturday following Cristian Romero’s red card.

That means that Spurs will be without a number of key first-team players, including James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Pedro Porro. Dominic Solanke could be a standout star, with the forward scoring in 13 of his last 19 home EPL appearances.

Magpies Falling Short in European Challenge

For the first time during his tenure at Newcastle, Eddie Howe is coming under increasing pressure. The Magpies dropped to 12th in the standings following a third straight loss against Brentford on Saturday.

The defeat leaves Newcastle ten points adrift of the top five. Summer transfers just haven’t worked for the Magpies, with Nick Woltemade and Anthony Elanga failing to recapture the form shown at their former clubs.

However, Howe’s record against Spurs should be respected, as he has masterminded six wins in his last nine against Tottenham. But, Newcastle’s issues on the road will be hard to ignore, winning just two of their last 15.

Possible Lineup
(4-3-3) Pope (GK); Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Willock, Guimaraes, Tonali; Murphy, Wissa, Barnes

Tottenham vs. Newcastle Picks

It is incredibly challenging to make picks on this fixture due to the recent form of both sides.

However, the head-to-head trends could point to a logical angle. Spurs have lost five of their last seven against the Magpies, while Newcastle have picked up more wins against Spurs than against any other rival in Premier League history.
