MLS action returns following the international break on April 4, as the in-form Real Salt Lake host Sporting KC at the America First Field.
Real Salt Lake have made a consistent start to the season, and they could close the gap on LAFC at the top of the Western Conference with a victory over their struggling rivals.

Real Salt Lake have made a reliable start to the 2026 season under Pablo Mastroeni. Since losing to Vancouver on the opening weekend, Salt Lake have avoided defeat in their previous four fixtures, winning on three occasions. A sign of their progress was evident before the international break after fighting back to rescue a draw against San Diego FC.
An attacking threat has been evident throughout their fixtures this term, scoring 1.8 goals per game from an xG of 1.66. But, they will likely need to improve defensively after allowing a high average of 1.4.

The international break could have come at a good time for Sporting KC, as the franchise dropped to the foot of the Western Conference following a heavy 4-1 loss over the Colorado Rapids last time out.
Good news has come out of the camp since the loss, with experienced defender Zorhan Bassong signing a new long term deal. The defender will be crucial in helping the team to get their form back on track, as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in all five matches in 2026, and they have conceded a high average of 2.2 goals per game.
