A finish in the playoff spots will once again be the primary aim for B.J. Callaghan’s Nashville SC this term. The early signs look promising after taking four points from the opening two rounds of fixtures.
Nashville flexed their muscles in the opening round of fixtures after recording a 4-1 home win over New England, but they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against FC Dallas last Saturday.
Despite dominating the ball, their anger boiled over in the closing stages when Matthew Corcoran was sent off. However, being back at home boosts their chances, having averaged an xG of 1.71 in matches at Geodis Park this term.

Minnesota United enjoyed a strong run to the conference semi-finals last term, and they have made a bright start to the 2026 season.
United played out a 2-2 draw against Austin on the opening day, before landing a first win of the campaign in their first home match against FC Cincinnati last Saturday. A controlled defensive performance gave United the platform to build on, as they restricted a talented rival to just four shots on target.
The match-winning goal for Minnesota was scored in the final half an hour by Kelvin Yeboah. A similar counter-attacking approach is likely in Nashville this weekend.
