It has already been a positive week for Pep Guardiola’s side after Arsenal dropped points in midweek, and a victory on Saturday could see Man City close to within two points of the Gunners.
Newcastle’s league form has been patchy throughout the campaign, but confidence will be taken from the fact that they have won their last three in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are no strangers to a Premier League title race, and that experience could be key against an Arsenal side that are beginning to show their weak mentality.
City have recorded league wins in three of their last four, easily beating Fulham 3-0 in their latest outing. It has been their improved defensive performances that deserve attention, allowing just eight goals in their last 12, which is the best EPL record over that timeframe.
Marc Guehi’s arrival has been a key factor in their success. Meanwhile, Gianluigi Donnarumma has also outperformed expectations, preventing three goals over that period based on xG metrics.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are struggling to keep pace in the race for Champions League qualification, sitting tenth after winning just once in their last five in the league.
However, the Magpies have shown improved form in recent competitive outings, scoring eleven goals in three straight wins. Anthony Gordon was in excellent form in the midweek win over Qarabag in the Champions League, scoring four times.
But, Newcastle’s struggles on the road this season should be considered. The Magpies are winless in their last nine trips to sides sitting in the top ten places in the EPL standings.
