- Arsenal’s advantage at the EPL summit cut to four points
- Leeds have moved six points clear of the drop zone following an excellent run of form
The questions continue to pile up for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, as the Gunners saw their advantage at the summit cut to four points following a defeat last Sunday. This weekend, they travel to in-form Leeds.
Goals from open play continue to be a major issue for Arsenal this term, and a deserved loss against Man United last time out now leaves Arteta with major questions to answer.
Leeds should bring confidence into this clash after moving six points clear of the drop zone following a hard-fought draw at Everton on Monday.

Leeds Edging Nearer Safety
Daniel Farke has done an excellent job at Leeds since the start of December, with the Whites suffering just one defeat over that period. Leeds bring solid form into this round of games, taking points from four of their last five.
The Whites have also excelled in recent matches at Elland Road, going five without a defeat, which is their longest unbeaten run in the top-flight since May 2021. Their form is a major reason for optimism, and that is boosted by the fact that no side have lost fewer games than the Whites since December 1.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the team’s star man, and he will be chasing a tenth league goal of the season on Saturday.

Gunners Winless in Three
Arsenal’s dreams of ending a 20-year wait for a Premier League title have stalled in recent weeks. The Gunners have seen their advantage at the summit cut to four points after going three without a win.
Last weekend, they suffered a third defeat of the season, and a first at the Emirates in 2025-26. However, the Gunners haven’t suffered back-to-back league defeats since December 2023. Goals from open play have been a major concern this term, with Bukayo Saka, Viktor Gyokeres, and Gabriel Martinelli all failing to net in their last ten.
In fact, it could be argued that luck has been on their side, with four own goals being scored to aid their title chances. No side have benefitted more from own goals this term.

Leeds vs. Arsenal Picks
This is a must-win game for the Gunners this weekend, as the pressure continues to mount. Leeds deserve huge respect following an excellent run of form, but the Gunners could edge to a narrow win. It could be worth noting that the Gunners have won their last six against the Whites.
