The Kings remain in a prominent position to challenge for a playoff spot this season, as they sit fifth in the Pacific Division. However, a return to form is required on Friday after losing to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets will be low on confidence after suffering defeats in each of their last ten to sit bottom of the Central Division.
It has been a miserable winter thus far for the Winnipeg Jets, as they have dropped to the foot of the Central Division after losing each of their last ten games.
No side in the division have suffered more regulation time losses in 2025-26, while they also have one of the worst attacking records. The Jets come into this round after suffering defeats in their last ten games, which includes an overtime loss at home against the Vegas Golden Knights earlier this week.
While they looked more efficient in the offensive areas, they were made to pay for defensive errors in the final frame.

The LA Kings remain among the leading playoff contenders in the Central Division, as they sit fifth in the current standings after going 18-14-10.
However, their form over their last ten has been slightly underwhelming, winning on just four occasions and suffering five defeats in regulation time. They will need a return to form this weekend following a damaging loss to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
The Kings were eventually beaten in overtime, but morale may be hit after a loss against their biggest rivals.

Wins have been hard to come by for the Jets this season, and this looks like another challenging night in prospect. The Kings look like good value to return to winning ways, and their case is made stronger after winning 44% of their previous road games against Winnipeg.
