Tigers Aiming for Shock EPL Return
Against all odds, Sergej Jakirovic’s Hull have aspirations of a playoff finish in the Championship this term.
The Tigers currently sit fourth in the second tier, despite losing against Bristol City in their latest outing. Hull overcame a tricky opponent in the previous round, needing penalties to eventually beat Blackburn Rovers.
The Tigers have won 50% of their home fixtures in 2025-26, scoring an impressive 1.44 goals per game. However, they have been defensively unreliable at the same time, allowing 1.44 goals per game, and keeping clean sheets in just 24% of their fixtures.

Rosenior Returns to Former Club
It will be a poignant night for Liam Rosenior on Friday, as the Chelsea boss returns to Hull City for the first time since departing the club. The coach enjoyed a good spell with the Tigers, leading them to a seventh-place finish in 2023-24.
Since joining Chelsea, the Blues have avoided defeat in their five EPL fixtures. However, both of Chelsea’s defeats under the coach have come in domestic cup competition, losing home and away to Arsenal.
But, Rosenior did oversee Chelsea’s win in the third-round of the FA Cup, as the Blues cruised to a 5-1 away win against Championship side Charlton Athletic. With big fixtures on the horizon, Rosenior is likely to rest key first-team stars such as Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez on Friday.

Hull vs. Chelsea Picks
Chelsea made light work of Championship opposition in the previous round, and they should have the attacking quality to ease through once again on Friday.
The Blues have shown excellent offensive intent under Rosenior, while it should be respected that Chelsea are unbeaten in 13 previous competitive fixtures against Hull.
