  • Liam Rosenior chasing back-to-back EPL wins with Chelsea
  • Crystal Palace have lost three of their last five

Premier League action on Sunday kicks off with a London derby between Chelsea and Crystal Palace on Jan 25.

It has been a frustrating period for Palace fans, as their FA Cup-winning team from last term is on the verge of being ripped apart. Marc Guehi has already departed the club, while Oliver Glasner revealed last week that he will leave at the end of the campaign.

Liam Rosenior has quickly settled into life at Chelsea, winning three of his four competitive games in charge of the team.

Clouds Forming Over Palace

Tensions continue to mount at Crystal Palace, as Glasner’s bombshell announcement that he will depart the club in the summer was followed by Guehi’s transfer to Man City.

Further doubts have formed this week, as Jean-Philippe Mateta has asked for a move away from Selhurst Park. Palace’s form on the field is also worrying, as they have lost three of their last five games, which includes a recent loss at Sunderland.

Only Burnley are currently on a longer winless run in the Premier League than Palace, as the Eagles have failed to land a victory in their last seven.

Blues Have Sights on UCL Spots

Liam Rosenior has hit the ground running since replacing Enzo Maresca, winning three of his four games in charge.

The Blues remain in a prominent spot for a Champions League spot this term, and confidence has been gained after winning their last two games without conceding. Chelsea were 2-0 winners against Brentford last Saturday, and they could win back-to-back EPL matches for the first time since November.

Chelsea also boast a strong record in London derbies, with only Arsenal picking up more points than the Blues against their city rivals since the start of the 2022-23 season.

Possible Lineup
(4-2-3-1) Sanchez (GK); James, Chalobah, Adarabioyo, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Garnacho; Pedro

A lot of Palace’s issues have been down to their defensive issues, and they are likely to be evident this weekend following Guehi’s departure. Chelsea have scored in 15 of their last 16 trips to Selhurst Park, and they have won 13 of the previous 16 in the Premier League.
