Cincinnati Showing Promise

Pat Noonan’s fourth season with FC Cincinnati has made a steady start, with the franchise setting their sights on a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Cincinnati made an excellent start to the season, winning on home turf against Atlanta United. However, they were below that high standard last weekend in their first away match of the season, losing 1-0 at Minnesota.

Despite dominating the ball, Cincinnati only registered four shots on target. They will need to be more efficient with the ball this weekend after registering a pass accuracy of just 83% in the defeat.

Toronto Chasing First Win

There would have been high hopes ahead of Robin Fraser’s second full season at Toronto. However, things still appear to be a struggle for the Canadian franchise.

Toronto have failed to win in their opening two matches, falling to defeats in successive fixtures. A damaging loss against Vancouver was inflicted last time out, only indicating the gulf between the two Canadian clubs at this stage.

Josh Sargent was a big-money move for the franchise in February, and the USA international could be in line for his first start at TQL Stadium this weekend.

(4-2-3-1) Gavran (GK); Franklin, Zimmerman, Thompson, Laryea; Osorio, Coello; Salloi, Cifuentes, Mihailovic; Sargent

It has been a miserable start to the campaign for Toronto, and things may not improve against a Cincinnati team that have thrived at TQL Stadium across the last two seasons.
