Seagulls Set Sights on European Spots
Brighton have endured a mixed 2025-26 campaign, with consistency being their biggest issue.
The Seagulls have ended a two-game losing run in recent weeks after winning back-to-back fixtures, with their most recent victory coming against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Brighton actually have a fine home record against teams starting the day at the top of the EPL standings, winning two of their last four.
Former Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been a standout performer for the Seagulls this term, scoring ten. That is the veteran’s best goals tally in his career. The hosts will once again be without the experienced Adam Webster.

Pressure Intensifying on Gunners
Arsenal will have nine cup finals between now and the end of the season, as Mikel Arteta bids to deliver a first Premier League title in over 20 years. Nerves were apparent on Sunday, as the Gunners narrowly avoided a shock draw at home to Chelsea.
The Gunners have excelled in midweek rounds, going 19 without a defeat since losing 2-0 to West Ham in December 2023. However, each of their last three in 2026 have ended in draws.
But, their efficiency in away matches should be respected, as Arsenal have scored 2.3 goals per game on the road since the start of the calendar year. Viktor Gyokeres has shone in away fixtures, registering six goal involvements in seven appearances.

Brighton vs. Arsenal Picks
This is a crucial clash for Arsenal in their race for the title, and their overreliance on set piece goals could cost them. Brighton’s attacking quality has shone in recent weeks, while the Seagulls have avoided defeat in 86% of their clashes at the Amex Stadium this term. Therefore, a chance could be taken on the points being shared on the south coast.
