- Aston Villa sit third in the EPL standings after winning three of their last five
- Everton have recorded just one win in their last five league matches
The standout clash in the Premier League on Jan 18 comes from Villa Park, as title-chasing Aston Villa bid to keep pace with Arsenal and Man City at the summit when they host Everton.
Unai Emery’s side have a healthy advantage in the race for Champions League qualification this term, and they come into this home clash after winning three of their last five.
Everton will have ambitions of a top-half finish this season, but wins have been in short supply in recent weeks after claiming maximum points in just one of their last five games.

Villa to Keep Pace in Title Race
It has been a season to remember for Aston Villa. Few would have foreseen the club getting involved in the title race, but they currently sit third, and they are within six points of Arsenal at the summit.
Villa have bounced back to form in recent games since a loss to the Gunners, taking four points from their last two. Confidence would have also been gained following a 2-1 FA Cup success against Tottenham last Saturday.
Their home form has been one of their greatest strengths in 2025-26, winning eight of their ten games at Villa Park. They have scored 1.8 goals per game in front of their home fans, and have conceded a low average of 0.8.

Toffees Without Key Stars
It has been a busy period for Everton, and they will be aiming for a return to form after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Sunderland last weekend. The Toffees haven’t fared much better in the league, winning just one of their last five.
Last time out, they played out a 1-1 home draw against bottom-placed Wolves. AFCON has seen them compete without a number of first-team stars, and Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye remain unavailable this weekend.
Michael Keane is suspended, while Seamus Coleman is also out. Jack Grealish is expected to feature against his former side. The Englishman has enjoyed a fine loan spell with the Toffees this season, registering eight goal involvements.

Aston Villa vs. Everton Picks
Everton will still be without a number of first-team regulars for this trip to Villa Park, which will be detrimental to their chances.
Aston Villa’s home record has been dominant throughout the 2025-26 season, and their head-to-head dominance over the Toffees is expected to continue this Sunday.
