Pochettino Aiming for Positive Result
It would be fair to say that Pochettino's reign as the USMNT head coach has been mixed to this point.
Disappointments in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Copa America have done little to raise optimism ahead of next summer's home World Cup. However, the U.S. looked back to a high standard in the recent break, claiming back-to-back wins to nil against talented South Korea and Japan sides.
Against the latter, the USMNT dominated the ball and registered an impressive eleven shots on target. Folarin Balogun and Alejandro Zendejas netted the goals.
Aussies Already Looking Ahead to Next Summer
Tony Popovic will already feel as though his Australian side are on the right track after securing their spot in next summer's World Cup.
However, Australia could only finish second in their Group C campaign, winning half of their ten matches. Confidence levels surrounding the camp would have increased following the September international break, as they recorded a 3-1 victory against New Zealand.
Mohamed Toure was the star of the show in that success, as the forward netted twice. But, this clash with the USMNT will be a more accurate representation of their current progress.
USMNT vs. Australia Soccer Picks
Australia have typically struggled against the best national sides on the planet, and they will likely find it challenging to get out of the group stage next summer.
This is a perfect opportunity for the USMNT to build momentum, and we fully expect them to claim a dominant success over the visitors on Tuesday.
