The start of the 2026 World Cup is creeping into sight, and the November break gives managers one of their final opportunities to assess the strength of their squad. But, can the USMNT maintain their recent reliable form? You can find our USA vs. Paraguay picks here.
It has been far from a seamless transition into life with the USMNT for Mauricio Pochettino, as there have been low points throughout his tenure, including a CONCACAF Gold Cup final loss against Mexico.
However, the former Tottenham boss will be delighted with his team's response since that setback, recording wins in two of their last three matches. But, can the USA maintain that solid run of form against Paraguay in Philadelphia on Saturday?
There will be pressure on the USMNT next summer, as they bid to enjoy a memorable World Cup in front of their own fans. However, results throughout the calendar year have been mixed.
Despite that, the USA have won two of their last three matches, with their 2-0 win over Japan in September being one of their best displays under Pochettino.
However, it could be a slight concern that the coach has yet to settle on his preferred starting eleven, and players such as Sebastian Berhalter and Sean Zawadzki could still force their way into it.
Gustavo Alfaro deserves huge credit for the job that he has done with Paraguay, as the nation secured its spot in next summer's World Cup on the final day of qualifying action in the South American region.
It marks a memorable return to the World Cup after failing to qualify for the last three editions. However, they do have a pedigree at the highest level after making it out of the group stages in three of four editions between 1998 and 2010.
Their form this calendar year has been largely consistent, avoiding defeat in all but two of their eight internationals. Their only competitive defeat was a loss against Brazil in June.

Pochettino will have a final experiment with his squad during the November international break, as he looks to find the perfect balance.
The attacking players that he has named should have the quality to ensure that they hold the advantage. Therefore, a win for the hosts is preferred when making USA vs. Paraguay picks.
