Toluca finished top of the regular season standings, but they will have a mountain to climb on Sunday following a 1-0 loss in the first leg on Thursday.
The success will give Tigres UANL confidence, and there will also be a major chance that they get over the line after losing just once in their 17 regular season fixtures.
All of the pressure in this second leg will be on the home team, as Toluca must record a victory to at least force extra time.
They were below their best in the first leg, as they struggled to create clear scoring openings. That was evident after registering just a single shot on target.
Their frustration boiled over in the closing stages, as Robert Morales was sent off. However, their home record has been reliable throughout 2025, winning seven of their eleven matches and scoring an average of 2.73 goals per game.

Tigres UANL will be hoping to successfully defend their advantage and win the Apertura title on Sunday.
The Mexican side were excellent in the first leg on Thursday, and their match-winning goal was scored early in the second half by Angel Correa. They were excellent defensively in that fixture, and boasted excellent pace on the counter-attack.
Tigres have been incredibly challenging to beat throughout the year, losing just two of their 22 matches. However, their scoring average drops to 1.4 per 90 when considering only their games on the road.

Tigres UANL made their home advantage count on Thursday after claiming a professional 1-0 success. That could be a vitally important advantage in this second leg, especially considering their reliable defensive record.
