Premier League Matchday 2 Picks
West Ham vs. Chelsea
We flagged West Ham up as one of our relegation picks before the start of the season, and Graham Potter’s side were poor on the opening day after suffering a 3-0 loss against Sunderland. Chelsea also misfired on the opening day after being held to a fortunate draw by Crystal Palace. However, the Blues look good value to get their European challenge back on track at the London Stadium on Friday.
Pick
Chelsea (-151)

Man City vs. Tottenham
Man City and Tottenham both kicked off the campaign with excellent victories. Spurs started life under Thomas Frank with a dominant 3-0 home win against Burnley, while City thumped Wolves at Molineux.
Tottenham have a reliable historic record against the former champions, but it’s hard to overlook Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad on Saturday morning.
Pick
Man City (-210)

Bournemouth vs. Wolves
Bournemouth battled excellently on the opening night of the season, despite being eventually beaten by Liverpool at Anfield.
Wolves were battered by Man City at home last Saturday, and that could be the sign of things to come. Despite that, Wolves have avoided defeat in their last five away matches against the Cherries, meaning that there could be value on the points being shared on Saturday.

The Draw (+303)

Brentford vs. Aston Villa
Life under Keith Andrews started with a defeat for Brentford at Nottingham Forest last Sunday. Their chances of survival will likely hinge on the transfer business being completed before the deadline. Aston Villa played out a dull 0-0 draw against Newcastle in their opening match.
However, the Villa boast the advantage, having avoided defeat in each of the last six head-to-head clashes between the sides. An away win looks among the solid Premier League matchday 2 picks.
Pick
Aston Villa (+117)

Burnley vs. Sunderland
This is already a huge showdown for Burnley following a heavy defeat on the opening day of the campaign at Tottenham. Sunderland enjoyed an excellent start to life back in the Premier League after hammering West Ham 3-0.
Sunderland have a reliable record against the Clarets across all competitions, and their confidence could ensure that they are the selection worth following.
Pick
Sunderland (+220)

Arsenal vs. Leeds
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were not at their best in their opening match of the season, but they still recorded a fine 1-0 win at Manchester United.
Leeds United were also winners on the opening day of the season, but they boasted little offensive threat despite winning 1-0. This could be a sticky fixture for the Gunners, but we expect them to land a victory to nil.
Pick
Arsenal (-360)
|
New Player Bonus
50% up to $1000

Crystal Palace vs. Nottingham Forest
Crystal Palace arguably should have beaten Chelsea on the opening day of the season, but for a controversially disallowed goal.
The Eagles may yet lose Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi before the transfer window closes, and that could be a concern. Nottingham Forest looked efficient on the opening day, and they could be a strong chance to record a first away win of the season on Sunday.
Pick
Nottingham Forest (+225)
|
New Player Bonus
50% up to $1000

Everton vs. Brighton
David Moyes cut a frustrated figure following Everton’s 1-0 defeat at Leeds on the opening day, as the Toffees lacked any dynamism in the final third. Brighton also rued missed chances in their opening clash after playing out a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham.
A first look at Everton’s new home may offer no respite for the struggling Toffees.
Pick
Brighton (+144)
|
New Player Bonus
50% up to $1000
|
Fulham vs. Man United
Fulham showed great character to steal a late point at Brighton on the opening day, but their aging squad needs reinvention before the end of the transfer window.
Man United looked excellent following the additions of a number of new stars against Arsenal, and they were unfortunate not to gain at least a point. The pressure remains on Ruben Amorim this weekend, but we could see the Red Devils landing a first win of the season.
Pick
Man United (+127)
|
New Player Bonus
50% up to $1000

Newcastle vs. Liverpool
Alexander Isak’s future will create the narrative for Monday’s clash between Newcastle and Liverpool at St. James’ Park. The Swede is attempting to force through a move to the Reds, but the Magpies are standing firm.
Newcastle looked short in the forward areas against Aston Villa on the opening day, while Liverpool’s new-look forward line looked excellent. Defensive issues could restrict the champions, but we expect them to win a thriller on Monday.
Pick
Liverpool (+103)
