The fascinating MLS regular season action concludes on Saturday, with a significant showdown between the Portland Timbers and San Diego FC.
There will be pressure on the home team this weekend, as Portland requires a win to secure its spot in the top seven mathematically.
However, San Diego could yet snatch top spot in the Western Conference if they claim maximum points and the Vancouver Whitecaps lose.

The final day of the regular season in the Western Conference will be all about sorting out the teams that will progress to the playoffs.
The Portland Timbers hold their destiny in their own hands, and at least a point will secure seventh spot. A defeat could give FC Dallas an opportunity to steal the final automatic playoff position.
It is worth noting that the Timbers have failed to win in their last four. They were last in action losing 1-0 against Seattle Sounders on Oct 4.
It has been an excellent season in the MLS for San Diego FC, and they could yet steal top spot in the Western Conference on Saturday.
However, the visitors will require a victory and also need to hope that the Vancouver Whitecaps are beaten.
A victory on the final day could also secure the team's spot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. However, this can only be achieved if either FC Cincinnati or Inter Miami lose in the Eastern Conference.

It already looks as though the Timbers have run out of steam after failing to win in their last four matches in the MLS.
Therefore, the value play on the final day of the season could come in the form of an away win when making Portland vs. San Diego picks.
