A fascinating showdown is set for the MLS on October 11, as two sides that have already secured their spots in the playoffs will collide. The Vancouver Whitecaps have been one of the standout teams in the Western Conference throughout the campaign, and they have avoided defeat across their last seven in all competitions.
A victory for the visiting side on Saturday will see the Whitecaps move to the top of the Western standings with just one match of the regular season remaining. Last weekend, the Whitecaps stormed to a 4-1 victory against San Jose, with Sebastian Berhalter and Thomas Müller scoring goals.
Orlando City have already secured their spot in the post-season, but they will need favorable results in the last two rounds to avoid dropping into a wild-card position. A victory on Saturday would secure their spot in the top seven in the Eastern Conference.
However, draws have become a major issue for Orlando, as they have played out ties in three of their last four matches. Last weekend, they were unable to record a victory against the Columbus Crew.
Both of these teams have been challenging to beat in recent MLS outings. However, the high-flying visitors could be challenging to oppose when making Orlando vs. Vancouver picks this weekend.
The Whitecaps have won two of their last three against Orlando, and a spot at the top of the Western Conference could await if they can claim victory this weekend.
