- Liverpool upset the odds in midweek to beat Inter Milan at San Siro
- Brighton have failed to win in their last two EPL fixtures
Off-field issues have dominated the headlines at Anfield this week, but Arne Slot appears to have got a response from his players after a solid 1-0 win at Inter Milan on Tuesday. They will be aiming for successive wins when they host Brighton on Dec 13.
Liverpool stepped up under immense pressure in Italy in midweek, as questions were being asked of the coach following quotes indicating that Mohamed Salah was unhappy with his relationship with Slot.
They will be chasing successive wins in all competitions on Saturday when the Seagulls travel to Anfield. Brighton will need an improved performance after failing to win in their last two.

Liverpool Excel in Salah’s Absence
Salah’s comments following last Saturday’s draw at Leeds was a bomb within the Liverpool camp.
However, it’s during those periods where you learn a lot more about a team, and if anything, the Reds are more of a united team in the Egyptian’s absence.
Liverpool stepped up in midweek, dominating the ball and defending excellently in their 1-0 win over Inter Milan.
But, getting their league form back on track will now be their big challenge, as the Reds have won just once in their last five EPL fixtures.

Seagulls Stuck in a Rut
Brighton come into the weekend sitting higher in the league standings than Liverpool. However, the Seagulls have recorded just one win in their last four in the Premier League.
Last weekend, the team were well below their best, and they ultimately had to settle for a home draw against West Ham.
There appeared to be a disconnect between the midfield and forward players in that tie, but this fixture against Liverpool could play to their strengths, as they will be able to play on the counter-attack.
However, Brighton’s away form is a notable concern, as they have won just two of their seven fixtures on the road in 2025-26.

Liverpool vs. Brighton Picks
Liverpool may have turned a corner in midweek, as they looked a much better team in Salah’s absence at the San Siro.
The Reds have won six of their nine home fixtures against the Seagulls, and they have also registered victories in three of the last four head-to-head meetings.
