Pressure on Canada to Bounce Back

Jesse Marsch made an excellent start to life with the Canadian national team.

However, the team's performance levels have dipped in recent matches. They were shockingly beaten 1-0 by Australia last month, before playing out a drab 0-0 draw against Colombia.

Once again, team talisman Alphonso Davies will be absent due to injury, while the form of a number of regular starters can also be questioned.

Possible Lineup
(4-3-3) Clair (GK); Laryea, Jones, Bassong, Waterman; Eustaquio, Kone, Saliba; Buchanan, David, Ahmed

Ecuador in Excellent Form

Ecuador have been one of the most eye-catching nations throughout World Cup qualification. The South American nation secured its spot at next summer's tournament after finishing with the second-best record in the CONMEBOL qualifying process.

Ecuador won eight of their 18 internationals in South American qualification, conceding a low of just five goals.

The nation have since played out successive draws against the USA and Mexico. However, their best result of the year was achieved back in September after beating Argentina 1-0.

Possible Lineup
(4-3-3) Galindez (GK); Ordonez, Pacho, Hincapie, Chavez; Caicedo, Plata, Medina; Valencia, Angulo, Campana

Canada vs. Ecuador Picks

It is incredibly hard not to have been impressed by the progress made by Ecuador throughout the calendar year.

Their defensive record catches the eye, meaning that a low-scoring affair is likely this week. Based on Canada's recent form, it could be worth chancing the draw when making Canada vs. Ecuador picks this week.
