Slovakia have seamlessly progressed through the Winter Olympics, as they bid to win a second consecutive medal at the event.
However, it would be challenging to foresee the nation bettering their bronze from 2022, with a potential semi-final against the USA likely.
Vladimir Orszagh’s side have been impressive in this winter’s event, securing top spot in Group B with wins over Finland and Italy before losing against Sweden in their final group game.
Germany will still have their sights set on an Olympic medal in Italy this winter. However, they will likely need to produce three straight tournament-best performances.
The nation finished second in the Group C standings, losing games against the U.S. and Latvia after beating Denmark on opening night in Milan.
Their spot in the quarterfinals was assured with a straightforward 5-1 win over France in their playoff clash on Tuesday.
