The Nashville Predators will be chasing a return to form in the NHL on Jan 22 when they host the Ottawa Senators.
It has been a disappointing period for the Preds, as they have dropped to fifth in the Central Division after losing five of their last ten in regulation.
The Senators will travel to Bridgestone Arena this week. Despite sitting bottom of the Atlantic Division, they have a winning overall record, and still hold playoff claims.
It has been an inconsistent season to this point for the Nashville Predators, and that is reflected in their 23-22-4 overall record.
Defensively, they will certainly need to improve if they are to become a serious playoff hopeful, as only the St. Louis Blues have allowed more goals in the Central Division.
Recent issues have also hampered their progress, as the Preds come into this clash after losing their previous two. Nashville’s most recent loss was suffered at home against the Buffalo Sabres.

The race for a playoff place in the Atlantic Division will likely go down to the wire this term.
All eight teams in the division currently boast winning records, with the Ottawa Senators sitting bottom of the standings. Despite this, they have shown plenty of positive signs in their latest games, winning four of their last ten.
Meanwhile, they have a strong offensive record, having netted 163 goals in 2025-26. Ottawa were in excellent attacking form earlier this week, as they beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1.

The Senators could be the interesting play on Thursday. Ottawa have shown their attacking quality in recent weeks, and their form this term has largely been impressive. Meanwhile, they have won 40% of their previous games in Nashville against the Preds.
