Eastern Conference rivals collide in the NHL on Feb 3, as the Ottawa Senators chase a fifth straight win when they travel to the Carolina Hurricanes.
It has been a strong season to this point for the Canes, as they have won more games in the Metropolitan Division than any other team. However, the Senators have a reliable recent record, winning each of their last four.

The Carolina Hurricanes have emerged as the leading team in the Eastern Conference so far this season.
Only the Tampa Bay Lightning have recorded more wins in the East, while the Canes lead the way in the Metropolitan Division after winning six of their last ten.
Carolina bounced back to winning form in their latest outing, beating the LA Kings 3-2 over the weekend. Shayne Gostsbehere was a standout player in the win, registering two assists.

The Ottawa Senators should be a confident team ahead of this clash after winning each of their last four in the NHL.
That run of form sees them sit sixth in the Atlantic Division, but only the Columbus Blue Jackets have recorded more consecutive wins in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa showed their quality on Monday evening, as they recorded a 3-2 road win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Drake Batherson ended the night with two assists, while Claude Giroux scored.

The Senators deserve to be respected this week following a run of victories. However, playing on back-to-back nights may be an issue. Therefore, the preference is for the Canes to record a win in front of their own fans.
