DATE & TIME
Rangers Hoping to Mount Playoff Push
There is just under a month of the season remaining for the NY Rangers to salvage their campaign. At present, a playoff finish looks unlikely based on the fact that they sit bottom of the Metropolitan Division standings.
However, it is worth noting that they have won six of their last ten. But, they come into this round following a disappointing home loss against the LA Kings.
The team’s record at MSG has been a major disappointment in 2025-26, going 9-15-6, while they have achieved an overall record of 18-15-2 on their travels.
Devils Showing Consistency
The NJ Devils sit in a similar position to the Rangers, but they are currently six points better off at this stage. They have a good chance of mounting a fight for a playoff spot, especially based on their recent form, which has seen them win successive games.
Last time out, they held their nerve to record an overtime success against the Boston Bruins, with Paul Cotter scoring twice.
Jack Hughes has been a key player for the team throughout the season, registering three assists in that recent home win over Boston. Sheldon Keefe’s side have also been largely consistent on the road, going 16-16-0.

New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils Picks
There is little to separate these sides based on their recent results. However, the Rangers’ struggles at MSG this term are hard to ignore. Therefore, the Devils look like the standout selection to win the game on Wednesday.
