Interesting action from the Central Division in the NHL is set for Jan 16 at Ball Arena, as the table-topping Colorado Avalanche host the Nashville Predators.
It has been a dominant campaign for the Avalanche, and no side has picked up more points than Colorado in the Western Conference. However, a return to form is required following a recent defeat.
The Predators bring reliable form into this round of games on Friday, having recorded victories in each of their last two.
The 2025-26 season has been a memorable one for the Colorado Avalanche, and Jared Bednar’s side have already emerged as the leading contender for the Stanley Cup.
Colorado have made history throughout the campaign, losing the fewest games through 26 matchups. Meanwhile, they come into this week’s game having suffered a recent defeat.
Despite that, the Avalanche have won seven of their last ten, but they have lost just twice in regulation time. Their dominant scoring record ensures that they remain a dangerous team to bet against.

Andrew Brunette’s Nashville Predators have been in reliable recent form, and they go in search of a third straight NHL victory this week.
The Preds have accumulated a positive record this season, going 22-20-4. However, it could be argued that their biggest challenges have come on the road. Nashville have gone 9-10-2 on their travels this season.
Steven Stamkos has been the team’s best offensive player, scoring a Predators-high of 20 goals this season.
