NHL action is set for PPG Paints Arena on March 28, as playoff-chasing Pittsburgh Penguins host the Dallas Stars.
It has been a challenging week for the Penguins after losing back-to-back games, and a return to winning ways will be required to strengthen their grip on a playoff spot. The Dallas Stars will be playing with less pressure, having already assured their spot in the post-season.
Dan Muse is enjoying a reliable first season in charge of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The head coach could guide the Penguins to a playoff finish in his first season with the franchise.
However, there will be slight pressure on Pittsburgh to put a difficult week behind them after losing successive games before a trip to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
Being back at the PPG Paints Arena will enhance their chances, as the Penguins have gone 17-11-8 in front of their own fans in 2025-26. Sidney Crosby leads the franchise for goals, having registered 28.
The first part of the job has already been done by the Dallas Stars, as their spot in the playoffs has been secured.
Dallas currently sit second in the Central Division, but their performance levels have dropped since their spot in the post-season was assured. Before their trip to New York on Thursday, the Stars have suffered three straight defeats. Defensively, they will need to show improvement after allowing ten regulation-time goals across that period.
But, their overall record on the road is very strong, as they have gone 20-7-6 on their travels under Glen Gulutzan in 2025-26.

The Stars have looked too relaxed in their recent outings since securing their spot in the post-season. Therefore, the Penguins are preferred on Saturday. It could be worth noting that Pittsburgh have won 62% of their home games against the Stars.
