NHL action continues on March 21, as the Pittsburgh Penguins bid to get their playoff challenge back on track following a recent defeat when they clash with the Winnipeg Jets.
The Penguins remain second in the Metropolitan Division, but they have suffered regulation time losses in three of their last ten. Meanwhile, the Jets have suffered defeats in each of their previous two.
Dan Muse’s Penguins have enjoyed a reliable campaign in the NHL this term, and they currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division.
Pittsburgh have gone 16-9-8 in their home games this term, with Erik Karlsson proving to be a creative output after racking up a staggering 43 assists.
The Penguins will need to rediscover their consistency on Saturday following a run of just four wins in their last ten. Last time out, the Penguins were edged out in overtime by the Carolina Hurricanes.
There will be slight pressure on the Winnipeg Jets this weekend, as they have suffered defeats in their last two games.
The Jets were well below their usual high standards last time out, as they were hammered 6-1 on the road by the Boston Bruins. Boston scored three of their efforts in a dominant final period. Scott Arniel’s team have struggled for consistency on their travels this term, going 11-16-5.
Mark Scheifele has been a standout star for the Jets, leading the franchise for goals, assists, and points.
