- Edmonton Oilers searching for consistency after going 5-5-0 across their last ten
Talented teams collide in the NHL on March 6, as the Eastern Conference high-flyers, the Carolina Hurricanes, travel to the Edmonton Oilers.
The Oilers sit third in the Pacific Division, but have struggled for consistency in recent weeks after winning, and also losing, five of their last ten. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes will be chasing successive wins to extend their advantage in the Metropolitan Division.
DATE & TIME
Oilers in Fight For Playoffs
Kris Knoblauch’s Edmonton Oilers will be back in front of their own fans this week, as they chase a second straight win, and a third victory in four.
The Oilers showed their character earlier in the week, edging to an overtime success over the Ottawa Senators. Leon Draisaitl was the team’s standout performer in the home win, scoring twice and adding three assists.
Home form has been a key strength this term, as the Oilers have gone 16-10-4 at Rogers Place. That could be a key trend worth considering on Friday.

Canes Cruising at Metropolitan Summit
It has been a very reliable campaign for the Carolina Hurricanes, as they sit clear at the top of the Metropolitan Division standings.
Rod Brind’Amour’s side have continued to show their quality across their last ten, landing eight wins and suffering just a single defeat in regulation time.
Offensively, they were relentless in their latest outing, as they landed a 6-4 road success against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Nikolaj Ehlers was a standout performer in the win, scoring three times.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Carolina Hurricanes Picks
The inconsistent nature of the Oilers makes them a hard team to trust. Therefore, the preference is for the offensively strong Canes to stretch their advantage at the top of the Metropolitan Division.
