Another week of NHL action kicks off with a competitive Monday slate of matchups. The Columbus Blue Jackets and LA Kings will both be chasing a third straight win when they collide.
The Blue Jackets remain toward the foot of the Metropolitan Division, despite winning each of their last two games in the NHL.
Meanwhile, the Kings have also pieced together back-to-back wins, and a third straight victory will enhance their playoff prospects.

The Columbus Blue Jackets may sit seventh in the Metropolitan Division, but they remain within striking distance of achieving a playoff spot in 2025-26.
Columbus have shown consistent form across their last ten, winning on six occasions. However, it should also be noted that they have suffered losses in regulation in four games.
The Blue Jackets offense sparkled over the weekend, scoring eight in a dramatic win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mason Marchment was a star performer, scoring three and adding one assist.
The LA Kings will take plenty of positives from their performances to this point. They come into this round sitting fifth in the Pacific Division, and they have won back-to-back games in the NHL.
However, they have recorded just four wins in their last ten, and have suffered the same number of losses in overtime.
A lack of consistency in their recent outings would be a major concern ahead of this game on the road. However, they showed excellent character to land a shootout win over the St. Louis Blues in their previous game.
