An interesting clash in the NHL is set for March 5, as the Winnipeg Jets host the out-of-form Tampa Bay Lightning.
Despite sitting top of the Atlantic Division, the Lightning have suffered defeats in their last three games. Meanwhile, the Jets will be hoping to record a second straight win.
The Winnipeg Jets will be aiming to keep their playoff dreams alive this week when they go in search of a second straight win in the NHL.
Winnipeg showed excellent battling qualities in their latest outing, battling to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. Mark Scheifele was the standout performer in the win, scoring once and adding two assists.
Other goals in the victory were registered by Dylan Samberg and Cole Perfetti. Winnipeg’s home form has also been consistent this term, going 13-11-5 at the Canada Life Centre.

The mid-season break appears to have come at the wrong time for the Tampa Bay Lightning, as their advantage at the top of the Atlantic Division has been cut since returning to action.
Tampa come into this road game after losing each of their last three, meaning that they have now won just six in their previous ten. A damaging defeat was inflicted on Tuesday, as the Lightning lost 5-1 against the Minnesota Wild.
The Lightning’s only goal in response was scored in the second period, ensuring that their road record now reads 19-6-4.

This could be a good opportunity for the Lightning to bounce back to form. Tampa have been largely reliable on their travels this season, and they boast an excellent recent record against the Jets based on head-to-head encounters.
