Rangers Underperforming in NHL

The 2025-26 season has been a miserable one for the Rangers, as they sit bottom of the Metropolitan Division with a losing overall record.

A sign of their issues has been apparent in recent games, losing eight of their last ten, which includes losses in each of the previous three.

Their defensive record has been below the standard required throughout the campaign, allowing 13 in their last three. Most recently, they were beaten 6-5 by the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier this week.

Canes Enjoying Dominant Campaign

It couldn’t be a more contrasting story for the Carolina Hurricanes this term, as they are enjoying a season to remember. The Canes currently sit top of the Metropolitan Division, and they have gone 35-15-6 so far this term.

Meanwhile, Carolina have recorded seven wins in ten, and that includes victories in their previous two. Furthermore, the Canes boast the best offensive record in the division, scoring a remarkable 195 goals.

Their most recent win was achieved against the Ottawa Senators, landing a 4-3 victory. Seth Jarvis scored twice in the win, while Sebastian Aho added one goal and two assists.

Hurricanes vs. Rangers Picks

Despite having an inferior head-to-head record, it remains challenging to overlook the Hurricanes on Thursday. Their recent form is stronger than the Rangers, and their offensive quality could ensure another miserable defensive night for the hosts.
