The race for the Eastern Conference playoffs continues in the NHL on April 7, as the Boston Bruins bid to bounce back to form when they travel to the Carolina Hurricanes.
There will be no pressure on the Canes this week, as their spot in the post-season has already been assured after going 49-22-6 in the Metropolitan Division.
DATE & TIME
Canes Bidding to End Season in Good Form
The Carolina Hurricanes have already secured their spot in the post-season, but they will be aiming to take momentum into the playoffs. They come into this clash at the top of the Metropolitan Division, winning seven of their last ten.
However, a return to form will be required on Tuesday after a disappointing 6-3 road loss against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. Andrei Svechnikov and Logan Stankoven scored the goals in the heavy loss.

Bruins Aiming to End Losing Run
It looks likely that the Boston Bruins will join the Canes in the playoffs, but they will require a reversal in their recent form after suffering defeats in each of their last three. Despite that recent run, the Bruins still sit fourth in the Atlantic Division, and they have an overall winning record of 43-26-9.
Boston were beaten in their latest outing, as they lost 2-1 in overtime against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Bruins forced an additional period in the final frame, but they looked fatigued in overtime.
