Cross-conference action is set for the NHL on March 5, as the struggling Calgary Flames play host to the Ottawa Senators at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Flames come into this round sitting toward the bottom of the Pacific Division, while the Senators should be confident after winning six of their last ten.
A challenging campaign for the Calgary Flames sees them sit seventh in the Pacific Division. Meanwhile, confidence levels are likely to be low after losing each of their last three in the NHL.
A poor defensive showing was evident in their latest outing, as the Flames were hammered 6-1 by the Dallas Stars at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday.
Morgan Frost scored Calgary’s only goal in the heavy loss. Despite the defeat, the Flames have performed better in home games than they have on the road, going 15-10-4.

The Ottawa Senators had made a reliable resumption to action following the Winter Olympics, but their expectations may have been lowered after a defeat in their latest outing.
Despite the defeat, the Senators remain sixth in the Atlantic Division, and within striking distance of the playoff spots.
A key strength this term has been their offensive record, with the Senators scoring an impressive 201 goals. A 24-hour break will suit their chances following a dramatic overtime loss against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
