In truth, it has been slightly better for the Flames this term, and they could yet build momentum to challenge for a playoff spot despite sitting seventh in the Pacific Division standings.
Boston have struggled for consistency throughout the campaign, winning just three of their last ten.
This season has largely been a struggle for the Boston Bruins. They come into this round sitting seventh in the Atlantic Division, having won 22 of their 43 games in the Eastern Conference.
But, wins have been harder to achieve in recent weeks after claiming just three victories in their last ten. Defensively, they have really struggled this season, allowing an Atlantic Division-high of 143 goals.
They come into this clash after a poor showing against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday, losing 7-4 on the road.

The Calgary Flames could yet enter playoff contention in the NHL this season, but they will need to bounce back to form after suffering defeats in each of their last two.
That poor run of form has seen them drop to seventh in the Pacific Division, and they now have a losing overall record in the Western Conference. Scoring goals has been an issue for the Flames this season, evident from the fact that they have netted the second-fewest goals in the Pacific Division.
Last time out, they were swatted aside by the Seattle Kraken, losing 5-1 at home.

Both of these teams have struggled for victories in the NHL this season, and confidence levels may be low based on their recent outings. However, the Bruins have a staggering 61% win rate in home games against the Flames, and that could be a trend worth following on Thursday.
